Moving Services: Conveyancing

In the past, only solicitors were able to carry out conveyance work on a home. Nowadays, there are also licensed conveyancers who can do this for you. If you want to use a conveyancer you can check with the Council for Licensed Conveyancers to ensure they are licensed.

Through our referral system, Home Sale Network is able to offer a Home Conveyancing service combining legal know-how with a caring customer service. Home Conveyancing are committed to making your sale and purchase go smoothly.

Whether you choose to use a solicitor or conveyancer, make sure that you appoint them early in the process, so that they can start as soon as your offer is accepted.

Conveyancing involves:

  • Checking with the Land Registry to make sure that the vendor owns the property and is actually allowed to sell it.
  • Checking that there are no land disputes affecting the property.
  • Carrying out a local authority search to ensure there are no hidden surprises, such as road widening or plans to build a superstore nearby.
  • If the property is leasehold, checking any service charges or conditions attached to the lease.
